That would make sense. He has vast experience. He’s been an outstanding player and on field leader for us. Plus if Hull make way for London in Super League he’s got lots of Championship experience. (JOKING!!!!)

My mind goes back quite some way, and I cannot think of a better overseas signing since possibly Mal Graham. He will literally be irreplaceable in terms of individual quality when he departs us - but nothing but thanks for his contributions from me.

Drinkwater has been a class act ever since he signed for Oldham, can only think of a couple of games where he was below par, nearly every week he's been outstanding and a real leader for Oldham in the middle of the park. He may not have come cheap but for me he's been worth every penny. Its a pity we cannot get another year out of him but he moves on with my best wishes and thanks for all he's done at Oldham.

Come on JD, one last big push for Oldham and lead us to the Grand Final, you know you want to

I have read McNamara is going to be head coach at Hull FC. Is Drinkwater going to be the assistant coach?

Yes I believe that is the case. Drinkwater would have known McNamara from his time in France.

As others have said, he has been an excellent leader and a real touch of class during his time at Oldham.  I am sure he is looking to finish on a high note in the play offs..

As a new comer to rugby league I've probably been spoiled with the level of players I've seen in a Yeds shirt over the last 3 seasons however drinky is the best of that bunch he's unplayable at times, leader on the pitch, match winner, calming figure when needed. 

I wish him all the best in the next phase of his career.
