For the second week went to the game expecting a hammering, and came away impressed with the commitment of the team, especially in defence. Frustrated that we lost down to one poor bit of defence on the last tackle when Widnes were going nowhere, and their first try when they took advantage of Carter's injury. Think it was Ben Will who messed up for second try but in the first half he looked dangerous every time he touched the ball; Alfie Johnson is maintaining his high standards both on attack and defence, and while I've not always been their biggest fans the 2 Davies brothers were both immense especially in defence. No idea what's happening squad wise next year  but that committed performance suggested quite a few will be staying - just hope Eastmond is as well.

I think it was an amazing performance  - especially after the away match earlier in the season - don't know why but we seem to fall apart in that last yard or so/ game management disintegrates... - definitely a match we could have won (which is incredible really given the respective club's' positions!) ..If we're holding on to the core of this team next year should be brilliant (Kyle surely staying to finish the 'project' before he inevitably moves on to a bigger stage..)

As we saw, effort plays a huge part when up against superior opposition. Team spirit, togetherness, putting bodies on the line...if the players can keep it up and develop as a group games like that will end up as wins rather than losses.

As said above, i went down The Shay yesterday and expected not a lot but the performance and the match was possibly our best of the season. Very unlucky to trail at half time and if only we had that little bit more composure we'd have at least drawn that. I was less than impressed with the lady referree. Her decision making was on a par with Fax's sadly. Nonetheless a fantastic effort from the lads and onto London next week. Up The Fax! .

Yes, Tara's reffing performance was really poor, in particular waving clear the most blatant obstruction by a widnes player with his shoulder you're ever likely to see. 

Great to see a good turnout, the biggest championship crowd of the weekend topping high flyers oldham and Doncaster, and that's with a poor effort from widnes probably bringing 50 tops.

Great effort from the lads, it'll be an even stiffer test next week at London but they seem to have run out of steam the past couple of weeks so you never know

Yes it was a great effort by the boys yesterday.

It was a bit like last week we just lack creativity when in good ball to finish the good build up play off. Which is the difference between winning and losing these games. 

Turnout wise i thought 1400 last week looked a bit over generous to me and 1500 yesterday looked a bit under generous to me.

Stableman-blue who i believe plays for saints reserves. He had a great game getting stuck in, and he should have backed himself to score when he ran nearly the full length but pulled out of the sprint I'm sure he could have done it

Definitely- has clear pace and power - another RU convert ; If Saints let him stay for a while I reckon will be another star turnaround / discovery for Kyle's coaching team : his RU highlights here:

Another game I really enjoyed. The effort was sensational but the attack was not up to the previous weeks standard. This was probably due to Widnes putting more into their defence than Barrow. I also thought Blue should have at least tried to go around the fullback and attempted a hand off on him.

London will be a game too far for a squad looking very thin. It looked like we picked up even more injuries and they will be hurting after losing to Oldham.
