This is Batley's last away game of the regular season.

I hope the Bulldogs pull their finger out this week, play like they did against the Cougars and Dewsbury might sneak it,

We won't. Half the team are already thinking about their holidays or their next club.

Expecting exits BSJ?

Unfortunately not Paul March, so we can expect things to decline even further next season.

Think Jacob Hookem is leaving, but he won't be missed.... except by opposing teams 😊

Eey weyll Greavsah, wat aboot that? Wew Saynt a gaym of 2 halves.... (please excuse the attempts at Scots and Laahdan accents)....and wasn't it? What went south in that 2nd half? Start of game we go 6 up in 4 minutes then we do our usual act of failing to deal with a kick-off (ALWAYS our right side, coaches note) then compound it with a six again and a penalty and they're in. Then we take over and game looks over at half time, looks better with an immediate 6 on restart, then it's siesta time, completely off the game, can't deal with bounce, don't like to get in their faces in the tackle and before we notice we've let 22 points in and are hanging on. Character went missing for a good part of that second half, couple of awful kick errors, lots of going down in tackles because ideas had flown the nest.

On the good side BenR 8 from 8 takes his career points to 1807, Leaky try gives him 352 career and Batley points.

We did that with 15 men there, massive efforts from our middles - yes we did have a poor spell but that’s what happens when fatigued

move on to next week against Salford…

Fordy will be pleased with the efforts today especially from Stevens manning and leak also Dixon and co

We lost Briggs, so had 16 and we played a full game on Wednesday...

Hookem, Summers and Walker at least. Anyone who showed an inkling of quality would also be looking, unless they were foolish enough to have signed for 2027 already.

No doubt you will also pension a few of yours off but look better equipped to cope with that than we do.

I doubt any club would sign Joe Summers. His complete lack of fitness yesterday was obvious, add in being the player with easily the lowest work rate in the team, but he has a big fan in PM.

That first half was woeful, one of the worst I've seen but the second half a credit to them for getting off the canvas.

A young side lacking confidence, no real understanding of how to manage a game under pressure. Error prone against a well seasoned side. I'm just glad for them that they didn't let Batley swagger through the whole game.

I'm not going to bag individuals because the Dewsbury "method" needs a complete overhaul and thats coming down the track.

Other than Flynn, who else didn't take part in the process....

You left Tomlinson on the bench for 65+ minutes,

we lost Flynn, parsons cut eye  & Walshaw didn’t come back due to his wrist

I said during the week that dewsbury wouldn’t have any motivation for this game but they turned up after it was over

Great first half built up a decent lead! Foot off the gas second half allowed dewsbury to score some good tries to be honest! I'm sure a few fans were a bit worried at 26-42 if dewsbury could have scored again and got into the 30s who knows what might have happened! Onwards to Salford next week who gave oldham a real battle on Sunday! Bulldogs beware!

Our substitution policies are innovative. We are waiting for the rest of RL to catch up.
