Bradford are the third club whose accounts have appeared on Companies House today (apologies to our sensitive York fans but yes I have alerts set up for when these get filed for most SL clubs).

I'm sure clickbait journos will try it on but there is absolutely nothing of interest to say about these accounts. The really interesting stuff all happened last year - and we covered it in depth on here at the time. The figures just filed suggest they lost around £140k. But there is no related parties disclosure that I can see (not even sure if there should be for this size company any more and I'm not going to run a disclosure checklist to find out) so we can't tell if or to what degree this pretty-much break even figure is being helped out by the directors putting money in by sponsorship, or if they are loaning money. There's a little bit of creditor movements and some loans disclosure and stuff but it's all small beer and not very interesting, unlike last year. The famous revaluation they did last year of Odsal stadium is retained with no change this time round.

Although worth pointing out that they cover the year ending 30th Nov '25, so their last year in the Championship. Next year's covering the 1st year (back) in SL will be more of interest.

Yes, all the clubs filing now are for the years ending November 2025.

Leeds and Saints filed a month ago because their year ends are a month earlier, in October (which usually doesn't have much impact because the domestic season is done either way but actually pushes the third Ashes test from one financial year to another in the Leeds figures).

There's a mention Odsal in the last sentence. How naive of you.

It’s worth us all remembering and reminding ourselves, that unlike a lot of our competitors, we don’t have a rich benefactor. Instead and is often the Bradford way, we have rolled our sleeves up and worked incredibly hard to return to the top level."

It's not how you start but how you finish.

And if we’re talking historically, that’s in administration.

York's went 38 pages, with little more interest than this one.

Has anyone got the link to last year's discussion, I'm new to the discussion but it looked dodgy to me. Can't see profit or loss this year although searches suggest £140k loss

York would like to apply for an exemption, because sharing any information about them is mean and hurts their fans feelings.

Abridged accounts can be lodged at Companies House if 2 of the following have happened;-

1) Turnover less than £10.2 million

2) Total assets (fixed and current) less than £5.1 million

3) Employees less than 50

As probably all clubs employ more than 50 employees, the clubs must satisfy the first 2 requisites.  If they do abridged accounts can be sent in without a P & L A/c.

Do you need to show a related party note in abridged accounts nowadays? I remember many years ago someone writing to Companies House challenging a set of medium sized company abbreviated accounts that the firm I worked for had filed for a client, for not including that note.

You do know that they regularly get 'strike off' notices posted in the Gazette for late filing? Their last being in April of this year.

It looks like Batley got a first gazette for striking off in April when their confirmation statement was three months late. York are approaching that sort of time frame so that first notice could drop any day.

Seems like a good, honest fan communication that to be fair, obviously addressing issues he's seen raised head on and explaining why it is what it is.

When the whole SL licensing talk was going on I thought Bradford fans were saying that they did have benefactors putting money in the club?

Not one single rich benefactor who can subsidise £2-3m per year. More likely 3 semi-rich directors who can cover £250k each per year.
But ultimately, having learnt the lessons of the past, living within our means is the overriding design.
The accounts for this first SL year will be of much more interest as I think our sponsorship deals are significantly more than last year. Also our medical bill 😔
