Deadcowboys1 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 Personally not a fan of them whether football or rugby although we have benefited from them in the past. I would expect Oldham to beat Widnes & Doncaster to beat Barrow. We would then be home to Oldham which could be our trickiest game in the series. Of course Barrow & Widnes could win, then we could beat Widnes for the 4th time this season. It will be interesting to see how Newcastle & their York reserves manage against i think Donnie as they haven't played many former Champ teams this season.
Jemmo Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Newcastle played against Doncaster (lost in the cup) and Barrow (won one lost one in the league) 1
Stephen Tokley Posted September 1 Posted September 1 I suspect the three best teams are ourselves, Oldham and Donny. I assume season ticket holders have to pay for these games?

RfE Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Will Plough Lane be available for our playoff game/s or will we have to take ourselves elsewhere ( Richmond?) to play?

Yes that’s what they said. As per your other point the whole concept of winning the league not really being important but a knock out competition of the top teams being the real deal is completely nuts. Especialy so for the championship where if you win the league you don’t go up and if you win the ‘grand final’ you don’t either but if you have cushions on the seats in hospitality and one of the teams in SL goes bankrupt you may. What a time to be alive. 1

An inference was drawn and spread on social media after the post Halifax match press with JD that the games would be played at PL but I’m not so sure. The football season is in full swing and there’s not much scope for changing dates to play matches on so I wonder if we’re off to Richmond with its one stand. It’s a little bijou if we’re up against a team who brings numbers down from the North.
RfE Posted September 1 Posted September 1 As far as I can see AFCW appear to be at home on September 12th , 17th and October 3rd.

Given that they have played Sat & us Sun so far giving them 2 weeks to prepare for the next footy, I don't see an issue. Fulham very helpfully put them out of the Carabao Cup.
Deadcowboys1 Posted September 6 Author Posted September 6 If i've read this correctly we are at home to Doncaster next week in POs.
St Reatham Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Next game is Sunday 13 September v Doncaster at Cherry Red Records Stadium. Kick off 3pm.
