Futtocks Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Great career, all the best to him in whatever comes next. 2 Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wigan captain Farrell to retire at end of season - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/articles/cp3klq70xnxo I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

WN83 Posted September 7 Posted September 7 He's been immense and is one of those legends like Sinfield, Roby etc who just seem massively humble and properly good people. He'll be a sad loss on the paying side but a great addition to the coaching set up. 4

He has apparently always been a bit of a freak in the gym and going above and beyond. 3
Loiner Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Been a tremendous player for Wigan, I hope you are as successful in your next venture as you were a player 1

He did our presentation 3 years on the run, at last one asked if the kids weren't bored of him turning up, they all queued up for a picture with him and we're made up that he'd remembered a few of them. Top bloke, down to earth, and will go down as a legend. 4
EagleEyePie Posted September 7 Posted September 7 One of my favourite Wigan players. His work rate has always been freakishly good. The definition of a player who leads by example. His try scoring record is pretty impressive too for a forward. It's still a travesty that he was robbed of the greatest try assist in English rugby league history when Ryan Hall was denied that fingertip control try against Australia. I don't know him personally but know many people who do and they all speak incredibly highly of him. Just a humble guy who worked hard, became a top player and achieved huge success and never let it go to his head. Hopefully he enjoys the next stage of his career. If he's as committed to it as he has been to playing the game then he'll go far in that too. 1 1

Of course, the winger didn't need ''control'', since the ball was sitting on the ground. It wasn't ''on the up'' as the referee incorrectly asserted, so he didn't need to bring it into his grasp. Just that finger was sufficient. A scandalous robbery. Terrible officiating by the Sutton brothers. 1
StandOffHalf Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Happy Retirement to him. Been a great servant. I think he's probably gone on a season too long, but he's a player who's always turned up and put a shift in.
