BigTime Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I thought Doncaster were the team most likely to challenge us- a big team with some experienced players. They’ve slightly faded out of the ‘limelight’ to be replaced by Oldham and Widnes but I’m not sure. This match will be a real test but I expect us to win. Wouldn’t be a massive surprise if we met them in the Final.

Feel both the Widnes & Oldham games the closeness of one & defeat in the other was as much about us being sloppy as the opposition being too good. One thing for sure, we need to score near the posts as the kicking could be crucial. Be interesting to see how Newcastle (or York Reserves) go. 1

the-bearded-lefty Posted September 11 Posted September 11 One downer for me is the email I've just head saying it's only going to be shown on the new broncos app which my, moderately new, phone is not compatible with.... Wonder how many of our fans in PNG will have compatible devices. Good squad tho!

Even trying to use the code they sent to get it for free as a member, the code is "invalid" Broncos currently not recognising my email querying it either. Some things will always be Broncoish no matter who runs it. 1
the-bearded-lefty Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Good team feel sorry for Davis but not sure who i'd take out of him. You think they'll put the whole match on YouTube later? Working on the off chance the score won't be all over everything in central Liverpool.
BigTime Posted September 13 Author Posted September 13 Tough match that. Pretty even first half. We wore them down a bit and when one of their players took an early bath we pulled away from them. OBeirne won man of the match but I would have said Smith had a good shout for the award. Was tireless first half in particular. Voro had a pretty quiet game but still came up with two classy tries. Again Walker very comfortable under the high ball. A bit worried in that regard when Morea comes back. Good game from Havili and RCG. We spilled a few chances but on the whole it was a good professional job against a decent side. The bizarre thing is I have a feeling our next game, the semi-final may also be against Doncaster. Not sure that’s great planning but there you are.
Stephen Tokley Posted September 14 Posted September 14 More or less what I expected. Donny have been a tough nut to crack in all four games this year. They offered less going forward yesterday than in previous games. I thought the crowd was a tad disappointing, especially as there wasn't too much London football on. My son tells me it will either be Donny, Widnes or Barrow (depending on next weekend's results) in the next round.

Don’t think more than a 1000 being charitable. I think, all things being equal the semis will be Newcastle v Oldham and for a change we’ll be playing …. Doncaster. What a mess.
Deadcowboys1 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Bit surprised that Newcastle beat Widnes, but no idea which York players they had.
