Newcastle's definitely Saturday at 17:00.

Big games this week, for us at Thunder given where we've been we'll enjoy the play off campaign. Here's my look ahead to the action https://www.philworld.co.uk/post/it-s-play-off-time-for-thunder

Shame it's not at 3, I would have gone as I'm in the area, but 5 is too late.

An intriguing set of fixtures this weekend.

It's definitely crunch time. We find out how good Newcastle actually are, whether London will blow it, and whether last week's performance by Barrow was a one-off. The Eagles are down to bare bones due to injuries and a suspension so I think Barrow will prove too much for them at their own ground. I hope not.

Newcastle Thunder v Widnes Vikings By 8

Oldham v Midlands Hurricanes By 20
Barrow Raiders v Sheffield Eagles  By 6

Cant rule out Doncaster.

They have a fantastic little side on Paper.

Good luck to all teams. Loved the Championship days with Leigh.

Some really interesting games there and I’m not sure I’d be predicting too many big winning margins.

Doncaster certainly can’t be taken lightly after sticking 72 on Barrow last week and they’ve got plenty of experience in that side. That said, if London play anywhere near the level we have been recently, especially at Plough Lane, I’d expect us to have too much for them. London by 38 and next weekend off.

Newcastle v Widnes could be the game of the weekend. Thunder have won 15 on the bounce but Widnes winning at Oldham last week was a very decent result and they’ve already beaten Newcastle in the 1895 Cup this season. Newcastle by 6.

Oldham v Midlands looks closer than some are suggesting as they’ve beaten each other once this season. Home advantage probably just swings it for me. Oldham by 20.

Barrow v Sheffield is probably the hardest one to call, especially after Barrow’s 72 nil last week. They’re back at home though and with Sheffield apparently down to the bare bones I’ll just go Barrow by 4.

Looks close at h/t at Newcastle (14-12).

Shame all of these games are not available for streaming. Would have happily stumped up a tenner for this one.

The most important four weeks in the London Broncos history begins tomorrow with a very tough assignment against Doncaster. As I have said before there are no mugs when you get to the ply offs and Doncaster are a side that is very much a dark horse and not normally mentioned when it comes to people tipping championship winners.

Although London has beaten Doncaster in the three encounters this season,Doncaster have proved very tough opponents, they do have the ability to score 3 successive tries in succession as evidenced in the 1895 cup game at Richmond. If the Broncos play anything like they did in the first half against Widnes in the 1895 cup final they are likely to be punished. The Broncos cannot afford a slow start and also cannot afford the number of unforced errors which have plagued the club because if you give Doncaster field position, they will be able to take advantage of it

Going back to that Richmond game, there was a Blond Doncaster woman there along with her husband who was acting as a sort of one girl army in barracking for the Dons. It brought back memories of a girl from Brisbane Broncos who barracked Nathan Cleary incessantly at Penrith stadium. Obviously, she was not looking at starring in a TikTok video with Nathan.😉

I am not going to tip in this game simply because I do not want to put the mouth on London. It is that serious.

What I don’t like here is sitting here with a bloke like you questioning my credibility. I misled no one – mind your words, son

Phil Gould responding to criticism -  I think I might try this out at work with any whippersnapper questioning my judgement.....

32-16 now and presumably in the closing minutes.

Thought a surprise was on the cards but seems not.

Really happy with that Thunder win. Widnes dominated at times especially late in the first half but we got the job done!

They made less mistakes.  Twice Widnes were in possession and it  ended up with 12 points for Newcastle and we dropped a simple pass at the start of the second half which they also scored off.  Crowd  I'd guess at about 600 of which about half were from Widnes, it would seem being a feeder club, and a successful one so far has not exactly captured the imaginations up there.  One other thing, three chemical toilets is not really adequate.

I was near the toilets. Didn’t realise they were the only ones 😳

Side note. I got my Geordie cousins to attend. Howay Widnes was a weird shout by one of them 🤣🤣

Dons have named exactly same 17 that beat Barrow last week.

Pretty small difference ack against London but hope they play well and make it difficult for London
