The beer brand Coors. I have no idea how the Americans say it the way they do.

Whenever I say that it just sounds like a really drawn out 'cause'...

Edit. Also, beer?? 🤨

I get funny looks whenever I see anything that rhymes with bear.

I should have thought about that when I married a girl with a name that absolutely rhymes with bear.

Q: When will we know that 14 clubs is working for Super League?

A. Before we can answer that, we need to know what the move was meant to achieve. Seemingly, no one knows,

Can't.

Are we both thinking about how we in Yorkshire shorten the word 'couldn't' to a naughty sounding four letter 'c' word?

Wembley 1992.  Cas v Wigan.  In a packed pub near Wembley I saw two Cas supporters - they seemed to be mates - having a friendly, but loud argument .  It went something like 'Tha c*nt do that'.  'Ah cud, bet thy c*nt'.  'Ah, cud'.   'Tha c*nt'.  'Well thy c*nt'.  Promptly followed by both of them having a puzzled look on their face whilst being frogmarched out of the pub by two bouncers accusing them of using foul language.

A Hull girl I was dating a lot of years ago went to study at Bradford Uni and found it very difficult to order a glass of "Coke" in the local pubs there. The bar staff all thought she wanted a sample from the Captain of the USS Enterprise.

I was listening to Radio 2, again, a good while back, and they were interviewing BBC local Radio station producers and,on this particular day, they were talking to a lady called Liz Meech. I thought I knew the name and it turned out she was working at Radio Humberside at the time. It was asked of her what a Hull accent sounded like, as she was a Mancunian, and she said that "If you ask someone from Hull what the capital of Japan is they'll say "Terkeyo"..."

I was outraged initially but the more I thought about it, the more I realised she was correct!

On the Hull accent, I tend to just tell people that you draw out any vowels within a word, and drop any 'h' at the beginning of a word of course. It just makes it sound like you're half asleep essentially, or off your head on drugs which granted most people round here seem to be.

Decades ago, when I worked at Northallerton County Hall, our team was joined by a young draftsman from Hull called Dave Gardiner (amazingly, his wife was called Rose!)  We soon discovered a common interest in bird-watching.

One Monday morning, he told me he had been to Spain for the weekend to do a spot of bird-watching.  I was amazed he would go so far, just for a 48 hour stay.

"What? Spain?" I exclaimed.  "No, Spain" I thought he said.  It was only when he said "Spain Point" that I realised where he had actually been for his bit of ornithology - rather closer to Hull!

Just gotta dodge all the Ryanair flights to Chavland along the way. Your feathers certainly don't look great after one of those lethal things clips you.
