Currie has been outstanding, probably his best season,  well deserved spot.

He has been good, true.

As always it seems stupid picking this now with the most important games of the season still to come.

I am ok with the Dream Team being selected on just the regular season. If you are going to compare players and decide who has been the best in the season then you have to provide everyone with the same chances, and players can be outstanding for a side that doesn't make the play offs.

So ridiculous it's hilarious.

Can somebody let the RFL know we are on for the treble rather than trying to be edgy. No Keighran, Wardle, Field, French, Nsemba or Partington. I wouldn't mind it so much if there was a genuine case for their exclusion but they are clearly head and shoulders above their competition. Would anyone have another half over French in their team? Not one person regardless of who they support. Another second rower over Nsemba? Even centre isn't contentious. How does Hanley get in over Keighran after 16 games when Adam had been consistently brilliant all season for the double winners.

Field/Miller close based on this season

Currie over Partington? Not even in the same post code in terms of performance

Absolute rubbish, especially the Currie comment, French has missed a big chunk of the season, Maybe you just invoke the only Wigan players can be picked rule. Remind me did you go through the season unbeaten, and the team is for this regular season so why put the Field/Miller comment based on this season. Wigan do not have the best player in all 13 shirts.

Can anyone explain why this team has been leaked to one journalist, when, as the story says, it's not officially announced until tomorrow?

Because this is rugby league

Currie deserves his spot. Partington and him would've been closer but I think Partington pays for his move to second row.

The biggest omission for me is Keighran. We all have our biases but that one really has amazed me. He's got 29 try contributions, with 16 trys and 13 assists. He hits like a train and is carrying at over 8m a carry. He's been Wigans best back by a street in 2026 and is a real big game player.

Outside of Keighran, I think Vagana is extremely unlucky not to get in ahead of McDonnell but the rest is fine.

The Man of Steel award doesn't mean anything to me. I don't know who picks the dream team. I don't even know who is in the dream team.

And they can play well when it doesn't matter and play rubbish when it does. It'd be like picking a player of a World Cup after the group stages and not the meat of the tournament.

The French miss is negated by the Hanley inclusion so yours is a moot point according to the selection committee (ahem, Ellery)

Ok, I was being kind to Miller, 15 less trys and 14 less tackle busts than Field. You are right. No contest

Given the number of games in the regular season of Super League and the group games of the World Cup, that is a flawed analogy.

But I am not trying to persuade you I am right, I am just saying what I think.

No contest ?, I would not of argued with field, but also Miller and OAB have been outstanding,  but to claim Hanley is only because of his Dad is ridiculous.

I think it's a stretch to be overly miffed that guys like Partington and Nsemba haven't got in as a Wigan fan but I do think only 2 is a bit crazy but that's the way things tend to work.

There seems to be more weight placed on playing for a club that has made big improvements and broke in to the top couple of positions, than there is on playing for a club that is there consistently over a number of years. Saints went through it and Wigan are now.

Ultimately, it matters little. I'd struggle to tell you who got in the dream team of X year but I'd be able to tell you who won the Challenge Cup or Grand Final.

Yeah but unfortunately Keighran is a nob so there's that to take into account 😉

It's a great motivational tool for me, I'd have it pinned up in the changing rooms.....

Every Dream Team tends to come with complaints. It's subjective and you won't be able to please everyone.

There was always going to be a slight advantage (and I mean slight) to Leeds players given a small part of the weighting comes from fan vote and Leeds have the most fans and vote in numbers for these things (see the all time super league 13 vote). It'll be enough to sway a fairly even split if there were any.

I'd have Field in there as I think overall he's had a better year than Miller. While Miller was outstanding early in the year I've been far less impressed as the season went on. Field has been consistently good throughout and improved as the year went on.

Keighran should probably be in for Hanley too based on the fact he's been outstanding for pretty much the entire year whereas Hanley has missed loads of games. If they'd played the same numbers of games I'd say Hanley edges it but the difference between them isn't great enough that half a season of outstanding performances beats a full season.

Jussaume fully deserves his inclusion. I'd probably go with Vagana instead of McDonnell. I also think Nsemba has been better than McDonnell this year, and if Hanley pips Keighran then whatever argument got Hanley the nod would apply to Nsemba.

Most of the other choices were obvious. Eckersley and Sivo the only choices on the wing. Hamlin-Uele and Ofahengaue the stand out props. Wigan's front row has been outstanding but it doesn't automatically mean Dream Team selection. Thompson and Havard have been solid A grade but the two selected have been A+.

Currie has been great this year too. Partington has been great for Wigan but it took a while for him to oust Ellis from the team and be rewarded with more game time. Palasia unlucky to miss out but I think Currie has been outstanding. In fact I keep overlooking him when I consider a potential England squad but he must be in the mix given his prior international experience.

Strong case for Field, Keighran and Partington. I agree that Partington could easily be there over Currie. I probably would have gone with Field. If I was dropping a centre for Keighran, it would probably be Handley. Tough to choose between those three. Keighran being a grub and an Aussie may have counted against him? Wardle hasn't been good enough to be in the mix.

Nsemba has been good as the season has gone on, but I don't have an issue with the two who made it.

French is the best player in the comp, but he's missed too much football to make the Dream Team.

Two from Wigan is pretty poor in terms of recognition.

Vagana and Keighran far and away the biggest to be overlooked. Makes you worry about the Man of Steel award now too.
