Two more Super League games called off

SUPER League have announced that two further matches have been postponed because of Covid issues.

St Helens versus Huddersfield on Wednesday and Leigh against Castleford on Thursday are both off.

Saints and Castleford, who faced each other in the Challenge Cup final at Wembley on July 17, have been affected by outbreaks.

The fixtures could yet be rearranged, although the table will be determined by win percentage.

Under the RFL’s Covid protocols, a team can apply to postpone a match if seven or more senior players are unavailable – either through positive tests or because they are close contacts.

More than seven of the top 25 players at St Helens and Castleford were recently required to isolate, leading to the postponements of their scheduled round 15 matches against Hull KR and Catalans Dragons respectively.
