Challenge Cup: Cas lose Carney

Castleford Tigers player Justin Carney has been suspended for two matches and fined £300 by an independent disciplinary tribunal after pleading guilty to making a Grade B dangerous throw on London Broncos player Thomas Minns in the 69th minute of a First Utility Super League Round 23 fixture.

An independent appeals tribunal has dismissed the appeal by Castleford player Weller Hauraki against the two-match suspension imposed last week for striking with his knees in a First Utility Super League Round 22 fixture against Hull FC.

Both players will miss Sunday’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Widnes Vikings at Leigh Sports Village.
