KR can shock Headingley again, says Horne

Graeme Horne insists Hull KR are good enough to silence the Headingley crowd again.

Rovers travel to Leeds tonight in the second round of Qualifiers, with both teams looking to move a step closer towards Super League safety.

Hull KR stunned the Rhinos earlier this season, defeating Brian McDermott’s side 30-10 at the home of the Super League champions.

And although Leeds have returned to something near their best form in recent weeks, Horne is still confident that his side can do the business.

“We’re confident,” he told TotalRL.

“They came to our place the other week, and although we had about 11 out through injury, we did well and probably should have got over the line. They will be really confident, they’ve had a few wins now and they’ve proved over the years how good a team that they are. We’ll make sure that we give them respect, but also the confidence to go out there and play at our best.”

Although many believe Rovers could finish the Qualifiers in the Million Pound Game, Horne revealed that talk outside the camp doesn’t interfere with their focus.

“The lads are really positive. We’ve had some good weeks in training and we have to take each game as a cup final really.

“I think it would relieve a little bit of pressure for us, but we’d still have a job to do because we could lose the next five. It has been a brilliant start for us, so hopefully the boys can kick on now and finish the season strong.”
