Swinton and Wigan continue dual-registration

Swinton Lions have announced that their dual-registration with Wigan Warriors will continue in 2019.

The relationship saw Swinton centre Chris Hankinson join the Warriors ahead of next season, while last year saw Joe Brown and Craig Mullen play a part in steering the Lions away from relegation.

A longstanding agreement between the two clubs, the likes of Tom Davies, Josh Ganson, Liam Marshall and Josh Woods have all played for the Lions previously.

“We are absolutely delighted to continue our dual registration agreement with Wigan Warriors,” Swinton Lions chairman Andy Mazey said.

“It’s a well-established relationship built on trust and mutual respect which works well for both parties. The partnership gives Stuart Littler access to some quality full-time players to further strengthen our strong squad.

“It also creates opportunities for our players to impress, as Chris Hankinson proved last year, so this is very much a partnership in player development.”
