Wood to leave Bradford Bulls at end of season

Bradford Bulls back Sam Wood has confirmed he has been released from the remaining years of his contract at the end of this season, after announcing his time at the club has come to an end.

Wood signed a new three-year deal with the club last season, but has found opportunities hard to come by in 2014, spending time on dual-reg at Dewsbury Rams. And with Bradford’s relegation confirmed for next year, they had the option to release him – which they have chosen to do.

Wood told Bradford fans he’s loved his time with the club and wishes them all the best – but doesn’t yet have a new contract sorted for 2015.

“Sad to have been released from my contract at the end of the season,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

“Been involved for six years with the Bulls and I’d love it. Even the ups and downs! Wish everybody involved the best of luck and thank you to the fans for being great with me.

“I don’t have a club sorted as of yet, but hopefully something will come my way soon. Thanks again everyone at Bradford Bulls and Dewsbury Rams for the opportunity.”
