Spoke to him after the game upstairs and asked about his leg, his reply was , and I quote, ''Absolutely fine, I was actually trying to have a slight breather''.Great gesture to give his boots away to the youngster. Sure he will have another pair for next week.

Nice gesture and great momento for the young lad, well done . From where I sat amongst the very unhappy Fev fans it looked like had had to do some running repairs on the boots during the second half with the black tape. Great game of rugby . Well done to all the players on both sides. What more could rugby fans ask for. Hope young Fairbank is OK he certainly put some big shots on

I just think it's indicative of the poor standard of match reports, not just in LW. The reports in the Batley News are simply awful. I used to teach 10 year old who could do better. In fact they are simply summaries of the scores rather than reports. A very poor standard.

Spot on. On I am not sure some watch the game

I have had quick look at match stats out of 34 games excluding pre-season friendlies and Boxing Day against the Rams which he played in  he has missed only 5 out of 34 games  and usually plays full 80 mins.

Credit where it's due here, I'd give Paul Cooke and Tony Miller the awards. They have worked hard to put an unfashionable club in a good position, Miller especially, as the other nominees were expected to do well anyway. Cooke is still a class act, but not sure that he will have the same influence when he's coach as well. For those going on about Davies, don't forget he's had a lengthy spell out this time and hasn't had chance to perform week in week out to earn a nomination. If he goes the whole season next time and gets his workhorse pal Applegarth beside him, then everybody look out, they, in my opinion, are the best 2nd row pair in the division by a street, regardless of whether Bretherton stays, (brilliant try today, as good as any Ryan Hall effort!) Manning,Scott or whoever we bring in.

Davies workrate is tremendous- and I think he did the full 8o minutes

I am  sure that other than a few games the kid has played 80 mins in the vast majority of the game this season. Must be one of the top tacklers

Well done Danny top clubman , great player and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot.

I thought he had a good game along side Davies. They certainly caused Barrow's LHS some problem. Unlucky not to score but well done for 250 and not out for Batley. It must be harder for a Championship player to get 250 games. Well done DM
