Wakefield lose Craig Hall to injury

Wakefield coach James Webster has confirmed the club will be without fullback Craig Hall for this Friday’s trip to St Helens.

Hall was named in Webster’s 19-man squad for the game against the defending champions, but will now not feature after picking up a problem in his Achilles.

“Craig has got an Achilles/ankle problem,” Webster said. “He turned up unable to run, so we’ve lost him for this weekend.

“He’s had a bit of a problem with it for some time; he was a doubt for last week but he came through it easily.

“It must have just been something that’s flared up overnight, and he can’t run. If you can’t run, you can’t play.

“He’ll go see a pediatrist and we’ll look to see if we can change his footwear. I don’t think it’s a tear; it’s more a tendon that’s inflamed. We’re unsure how long he’ll be out for.”

Webster also revealed that forward Scott Anderson is in contention to return for next Thursday’s game against Hull KR.
