Bulldogs shine in Dubai

THE British Bulldogs Over 35s side again impressed in their now-traditional assault on the Dubai rugby union Tens, reaching the quarter-finals before bowing out to competition favourites Racing Vets.

Paul March’s side opened with a 38-0 win over 100Rugby Legends, with Daz Wilson and George Rayner bagging a brace apiece, Danny Mills and Dave Cunliffe crossing, and Paul March adding five conversions.

Cairo, helped by a big penalty count, beat the Bulldogs in the next match, the British posting a Mills hat-trick and tries by Daz Wilson and Smith.

MAKO were then accounted for 14-0, courtesy of tries by Wilson and James Butler, plus two Danny Elston goals. But the adventure ended at the quarter-final stage, the Bulldogs being limited to a Wilson try in a 45-7 defeat by Racing Vets, who comprised South Africans and Kiwis with recent experience of international Sevens.
