Damien Cook signs new Souths deal

Australian Test hooker Damien Cook has signed a new four-year deal with South Sydney Rabbitohs that will keep him at the club until the end of 2023.

The 27-year-old made his New South Wales and Aussie debut after a brilliant 2018 which saw him named Dally M Hooker of the Year.

“I’m very excited to be extending my contract with the Rabbitohs and I’m happy to have my future sorted,” Cook said.

“Souths has been my home for the past three years and I didn’t think it would be possible to be able to secure things for the next five years, but I’m so happy that that will be the case.

“I’ve loved every moment of my time here, even the tough times, and I think we’re building to something nicely.

“It’s exciting times at the Rabbitohs and I’m looking forward to seeing where we can take it in 2019 and beyond.”

The announcement comes after Wayne Bennett and Anthony Seibold finally swapped clubs ahead of 2019.
