Speaking to the press following his induction into the Super League Dream Team, Mark Minichiello couldn’t help but let his eyes peer at the backdrop to his left.
Every time the Australian glanced out of the window, he found himself staring at one of the world’s most iconic stadiums, and the venue of Super League’s Grand Final, Old Trafford.
From the day Minichiello arrived in Humberside ahead of the 2015 season, the 34-year-old has made his intentions clear – make finals and win trophies.
The dream was always to grace the turfs of Wembley and Old Trafford, and having ticked off the first of those, Minichiello is now desperate to add the Grand Final venue to the list.
“I said when I first moved over here that I wanted to play at Wembley and Old Trafford,” he said.
“I’ve played at Wembley now, and I’d love to experience Old Trafford just behind us here and hopefully lift the Grand Final trophy up.”
