New Zealand Warriors prop Sam Lisone is not a target for Hull Kingston Rovers as they continue to scour the world for a new forward.
Lisone has been offered to Super League clubs, as recently revealed by Total Rugby League.
The 25-year-old would fit the needs of Rovers in regards to quota – he is non-federation trained, something Rovers have the capability to accommodate at present.
However, League Express understands that Lisone is not on their list of interested players, with the player more likely to make a move elsewhere in Super League if he does move to England.
Lisone was in the Warriors’ squad for the NRL Nines at the weekend, sparking speculation he may remain in the NRL after all.
But it is, at this stage, unlikely he will be playing for Rovers.
Meanwhile, Robins coach Tony Smith admits he has concerns over two potential half-backs following Friday’s heavy defeat at Leeds Rhinos.
Jamie Ellis pulled out in the minutes leading up to kick-off on Friday with a hamstring injury that the club are waiting to discover the extent of.
“He strained his hamstring in the last couple of minutes of warm-up,” said Smith.
“It wasn’t ideal but once again that’s one of the tests rugby league throws at you from time to time.
Meanwhile, Abdull appeared to injure his ankle in the final minutes of the game, and Smith said: “When it rains it pours. You tend to pick up more knocks and bumps and bruises when you’re on the back end of games, and we were on the back end of it tonight. It’ll be another couple of scans.”
