Match Report: Canberra Raiders 24 Melbourne Storm 22

In a Nutshell

The Raiders were behind for almost the entire match before they finally managed to snatch a winning score two minutes from the end at CIO Stadium on Sunday

How it unfolded

The Storm shot out to a 6-16 lead through tries from Ryan Hinchliffe, Sisa Waqa and Mahe Fonua, with Cameron Smith converting two of them.

The Raiders had scored a try through Matt Allwood, converted by Jarrod Croker.

But they managed to get back into the game in the shadow of half-time through a try by Reece Robinson, after great work by Raiders captain Terry Campese, making the half-time score 12-16.

Melbourne extended their lead to ten points soon after half-time with another converted try by Fonua.

But the Raiders fought back with a second converted try to Robinson, and it was Italian World Cup forward Paul Vaughan who scored with a last-ditch effort for Canberra to earn them the points after Croker added the final conversion.
