  1. Magic weekend

A couple of tips for people who decide to stay in the beautiful Durham City. The last train back from Newcastle is 9.55pm on a Saturday. This year there seemed to be a couple of extra trains on, but it seemed very haphazard and the last one was still scheduled to leave at a similar time. One got cancelled and it was an interesting trip back as the train was packed with RL fans and those who had just been for a (short!) night out! If you want to use a taxi I would advise booking in advance, might save a few pennies. Taxis starting or finishing in Durham are very, very expensive. Don't be put off, lots of pluses to staying in Durham, 2 Wetherspoons, one opposite the bus station with direct buses to Newcastle, lots of excellent real ale pubs and a number of microbreweries in the vicinity.
  2. Magic Friday

Haven't made a Thunder game for a while, due to family stuff, so really looking forward to hopefully catching up with old friends, some from longer ago than others. It's great to have this buzz around RL in the North East again, the timing of Magic has been spot on as it coincides with Thunder's revival.
  3. Magic Weekend 2015 Thread

As a Leeds exile in the North East I am so pleased that we are having Magic in an area that is passionate about sport. It's great news about the ticket sales - for those that have yet to get their tickets Thunder have a deal on whereby a weekend pass is £30 (£15 for the kids) and this includes the Friday night Thunder game. I am looking forward to a number of games, but also can't wait to spend some time in some great pubs with lots of Rugby League fans - can't think of many better ways to spend a Bank Holiday weekend without straying far from home!
  4. Newcastle Thunder

Good to hear Pete, hoping to get to some games again this coming season and it sounds like we have something to look forward to.
  5. Newcastle Thunder

Are you a bit tiddly Pete, or can we look forward to an exciting season? Always difficult to judge on a friendly, but good to have a win under the belt.
