About CountyDurhamCougar

  1. Being exiled in the North East and unable to get to the Cougars game yesterday, I thought I would take in this match and take the chance to eye up two teams which Keighley will play this season. I have to say I enjoyed the game a lot. It was almost a game of two halves, Town taking the first half assisted by Thunder's wayward passing and handling errors, then Thunder the second when Town seemed to get a bit bogged down in their own half and also didn't look after the ball very well. I noticed some Town fans weren't very happy with the ref at the end but, as a neutral, I didn't think he did too badly (although I dare say I am equally quick to find fault with the officials down at Cougar Park when it means more to me than yesterday). I thought your full-back, Ritson is it, looked the business until he went off injured, certainly in the first half he looked a real speed merchant. I look forward to seeing Keighley play both these teams.
  2. Commiserations Crusaders. I don't think there were many Keighley supporters who really expected that kind of scoreline this afternoon. Having been at both our previous games this season and seen how your team can play I know I didn't expect it. As Burley Cougar has already said, you are always welcome at Keighley. I was standing amongst your support on the long open side today and you all gave your team great backing for the full 80 minutes. Please don't take offence if I say I hope we don't see you next season, I'm sure you'll know what I mean by that - I hope we go up - but whatever happens I'm sure we all wish you all the best.
  3. All sorted now. Three coming down from County Durham - but hoping for a KEIGHLEY win! See you all there.
  4. We're more 'youth and energy' than experience at the moment! We started the season with a great half-back partnership of Danny Jones and Paul Handforth; we now have neither. Fair enough Paul March may play himself there but alongside him will be our young loan signing from the Dulls, Adam Brook. We're also without our prop Jode Sheriffe and our loose forward Ash Lindsay. Our injury list seems to be lengthening every week. As far as 'youth and energy' is concerned we've Andy Gabriel on the wing, Hamish Barnes at centre, Liam Darville coming up from the reserves (he's covered at full back), forward Tyler Dickinson on loan from the Giants and back Josh Guzdek on loan from Hull KR. I also hope it will be a good contest on Sunday but of course I'm hoping the points will be going back to Keighley. Not sure yet whether I can make the trip but if I can. I will.
  5. The above post by glemiln is how I understand it too. I think that's how York finished top last season but still didn't get promoted.
