  1. Blake Solly recently was interviewed by NothingButLeauge about the first season of the rugby league new era, the super 8's and the vision for Super League in the future. Some very interesting comments. What do you think of Blake Solly's performance as he heads into a second year as GM of Super League? 2. Ipswich Jets were crowned 2015 Intrust Super Cup champions over the Townsville Blackhawks on Sunday in Brisbane. Coached by former NRL stars Ben and Chris Walker, their unconventional play was rewarded with a maiden premiership. If you get the chance next Sunday hopefully they will show the State Club Championship where they face NSW Cup winning Newcastle Knights. You won't be left disappointed. 3. No matter what his sexuality is, that news interview on the morning program shows what an outstanding person he is to lead the Batley RLFC. Well spoken and calm.
  4. When I was scanning through the online news and twitter feeds in Brisbane, Australia early Sunday morning our time, I saw this story come through and was excited that another league player has come out. I had the personal experience of coming out back in 2002. Every coming out story is different and very emotional for families and friends. The emotions Keegan will be feeling would be unbelievable right now. But when the dust settles and he and the wife sort out their marital status, it could be the toughest time for him and that's when he will need the rugby league community to lift him up emotionally. Keegan will change young GLBT people's lives in the community. We don't need kids today worried about coming out ending up as suiciding. Keegan's strength to talk about his story will save lives. Ian Roberts back in 1995 came out and was respected massively in the back end of his career. I can't see why Keegan couldn't do the same, put in 110% for the club he represents. Details of a trust fund set up in his name is in the preview below http://www.nothingbutleague.com/sunshine-coast-game-delayed-as-intrust-super-cup-continues/
  8. Sunshine Coast have withdrawn from their trip to North Queensland. James will be laid to rest sometime early next week.
  9. It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Sunshine Coast Falcons prop James Ackerman, gone too soon at the age of 25. I am shocked, saddened and lost for words following the news. In such a short time James achieved so much in rugby league. Part of the Brisbane Broncos club with their Under 20's side in 2009 alongside Dale Copley, Dane Gagai, Tariq Sims and Corey Norman. Fifty-four game veteran of Intrust Super Cup, most with Redcliffe Dolphins.
