  1. Had a few thoughts of my own on this - https://wiggysview.wordpress.com/2018/01/02/rfl-2017-going-forward/ Got a couple replies that I could actually have a meaningful discussion with.
  2. My views, as a barrow fan, of the current state of the RFL and its potential future - https://wiggysview.wordpress.com/2018/01/02/rfl-2017-going-forward/ Hope you enjoy!
  3. They're all good point, but I believe that the way Super League has been structured in the past has made it very difficult for lower league clubs to not only get promoted, but to also be competitive in the competition. I firmly believe that the bottom team from the season should be relegated and that the RFL needs to look at how they can maintain a competitive structure with promotion/relegation.
  4. You make a good point, but for me even when you are competing in the middle 8's as a Championship team, you don't know when you are actually going to be promoted (if you are at all). I believe certain clubs do factor promotion into their player recruitment at the start of the season, for example Toronto have already signed several top players with no guarantees that they are going to get promoted to the Super League. Admittedly other clubs haven't recruited wisely and have found themselves playing catch up before the following season has even begun. The points you make are valid ones, but there must be a better way for the game to survive with promotion/relegation.
  5. I made a similar attempt to move to a different format in the future - https://wiggysview.wordpress.com/2018/01/02/rfl-2017-going-forward/ Not too different from what you're talking about.
  6. Thanks for reading and for the feedback. Hopefully I'll improve on what you noted in future posts
  7. Link is to my first blog post on the previous season in rugby league in the UK. Thanks! https://wiggysview.wordpress.com/2018/01/02/rfl-2017-going-forward/
