Barrett told to stay away by Manly

Trent Barrett will remain under contract at Manly Sea Eagles until it expires in July, but won’t be required to attend work during that time.

After Barrett quit in July, the Sea Eagles appointed Des Hasler last month as the new coach.

With the club now having two coaches, Barrett and Manly have reached an agreement meaning Barrett won’t be sighted at the club again.

“On the understanding that Trent abides by his obligations under his employment contract, he is entitled to and will be paid each month in accordance with his contract,” the Manly statement said.

Manly finished 15th in the NRL in 2018 after a turbulent season. Only Parramatta Eels finished below them.
