Salford Red Devils duo Michael Dobson and Ben Jones-Bishop are on track for debuts in the club’s Super League opener against Warrington Wolves next month.
The pair, who have signed from Newcastle Knights and Leeds Rhinos respectively, have both undergone surgeries in recent months, but are on schedule for a return in time for the new season.
In fact, they could feature against Featherstone in the club’s final friendly before the opening league match against Warrington – but CEO Martin Vickers told the MEN that the match may have to take place elsewhere.
‘‘If this fixtures goes ahead, it is unlikely to take place at Featherstone because they are apparently having a few problems with the pitch.
‘‘We will have to wait and see what materialises. Whatever happens, both Dobson and Jones Bishop will be hoping to be involved in the last game before Warrington.
‘‘Both have recovered well and are on course to be right for the start of the season. This is what we are working towards.”
