Brett Hodgson to leave Widnes

Widnes Vikings have confirmed assistant coach Brett Hodgson will leave the club to join Wests Tigers.

The former Warrington and Huddersfield fullback has been a part of Widnes’ backroom staff since 2013, juggling his role as assistant to Denis Betts along side being the head coach of the club’s academy side.

“I would like to thank everyone at Widnes Vikings. I have enjoyed my time here and will leave with some special memories. Widnes Vikings gave me a great opportunity to coach and I will always be grateful for everything that I have learned here,” Hodgson said.

“I am excited to take the next step in my career with Wests Tigers, which offers a fantastic opportunity to return to a club that I know well and develop my career in the NRL.”

Hodgson won the Man of Steel in 2009 during his time at Huddersfield. He joined the Giants from the Wests in 2008, where he spent five seasons after a spell with Parramatta.
