Jack Buchanan believes Widnes Vikings have all the ingredients to become one of Super League’s elite clubs.
The Vikings approach 2017 following their best Super League finish since 2002, a seventh-placed return which saw their gradual progression continue.
Denis Betts has made a minimal change to his squad for the new season so far, with Tom Armstrong the only new arrival at the club.
However, Buchanan believes that the Vikings still have a squad in place to compete at the top next year.
“It’s a very young squad,” said Buchanan.
“I think our biggest thing is consistency, which comes with age and a bit of maturity.
“We beat Wigan twice, we were in the run with Warrington who were Grand Finalists too. I think if we find some consistency we can be a force to be reckoned with.”
A big interview with Buchanan speaking about his new squad jersey and more is in the new League Express.
