Centre’s Bulls departure confirmed

Australian Dane Nielsen has called time on his Bradford Bulls career, just six months after joining the club.

Nielsen joined the Bulls after his contract with NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons was terminated after he allegedly bit a woman’s leg following a night out in Cronulla.

That prompted him to try his hand in England and had a dream debut as the Bulls defeated Super League side Salford Red Devils, although he also felt bitter disappointment after featuring in Bradford’s Million Pound Game defeat to Wakefield.

He had signed a deal until the end of the 2016 season at Bradford, however speaking to The Telegraph and Argus, Managing Director Steve Ferres said: “We have decided not to exercise the option for a second year.”

He is expected to return to Australia with his sights set on a return to the NRL, a competition he has made over 100 appearances in.
