Fans must repay Koukash, says Salford Red Devils boss

Salford Red Devils boss Iestyn Harris has called on his fans to turn up in numbers over the remainder of the 2014 season, and back Marwan Koukash’s extravagant spending at the club.

Koukash has brought in a raft of top names during his first 12 months at the club – with Kevin Locke the latest big name to arrive earlier this week. He is expected to debut against Hull FC at the AJ Bell Stadium next weekend, and Harris believes it is high time the Salford fans reward Koukash by turning up and supporting the team.

Speaking in his MEN column, Harris said: “Back to Marwan Koukash, though, he continues to put his money where his mouth is and it would be great to see people come along to the AJ Bell a week on Saturday for our next home game against Hull FC. He has been a breath of fresh air to the sport and he has certainly revitalised it.

“Now everybody needs to start paying him back in kind. This week is a pretty big week in the history of Salford Red Devils as we welcome Kevin Locke to the club. He is one of the brightest stars in the NRL but will now be doing his thing in the Super League and there is no doubt his signing is a great coup for Salford.”
