Winners in bold.
FRIDAY 9th SEPTEMBER
Sheffield Eagles v Dewsbury Rams - Sheffield have a home advantage and if Sykes is banned for this game, Sheffield will win convincingly.10th THURSDAY SEPTEMBER
Whitehaven v Newcastle Thunder - Again home advantage to Whitehaven might be enough to edge the Thunder.SUNDAY 11th SEPTEMBER
Bradford Bulls v Widnes Vikings - Tough one to choose but I think Bulls will have clinch it.Halifax Panthers v Featherstone Rovers - Again a tough one but Featherstone have might have enough in the tank to win.
Leigh Centurions v Batley Bulldogs - Meh!!!
London Broncos v Barrow Raiders - Barrow need to win this to secure 4th in the league (depending on Leigh V Batley result) but they will have to work for it as London are a strong team at home.
York City Knights v Workington Town - Town have now lost their coach next season and are demoted so not a lot to potentially not a lot to play for.
-
Possibly more bad news for the club.
If true I can't understand why players who have had an outstanding season, playing for a club on the up decide to leave?

Leigh's points difference is now up to 950, more than any other teams points scored.
I don't think that's good for the sport TBH.
I'd too would rather hear or see close contested games than 100 points to 4 scorelines.
I know it's a one off but it's discouraging.

Featherstone just hold off Barrow, only one try in it with 3 mins to go, a great display in attack and defence from Barrows MOM Ritson.
The game matched the hype!! I thought Barrow were coming on strong in the last 15 minutes but it wasn't to be. Well done Fev's. Hopefully see you guys in the play offs!!

So what's the Ritson to Saints about, or have you signed him in order to get a fee? If so; good thinking!
As I remember prior to the season started he signed a 3 year deal. All being well if he does sign for Saints, Barrow would benefit substantially.

Heard a rumour he’s Bradford bound. Hope he stays mind.
Definitely hope he stays. I know we played well at Batley without him but I do think he's brought our half backs on to a much better level with his presence this season.

Some great match ups this weekend and as ever making predictions tough to make.
However being biased for my home team I think Barrow will edge Fevs, but fingers crossed on this one!!!
The other tough fixtures are Widnes V Sheffield so the advantage goes with the home team and Workington V Dewsbury. Although Workington are unfortunately demoted next season they too have home advantage. Batley will be looking to bounce back from last weeks defeat.
So my winning predictions are in bold.
Barrow Raiders v Featherstone Rovers KO 15:00
Bradford Bulls v Whitehaven KO 15:00
Halifax Panthers v Newcastle Thunder KO 15:00
Leigh Centurions v York City Knights KO 15:00
London Broncos v Batley Bulldogs KO 15:00
Widnes Vikings v Sheffield Eagles KO 15:00 Draw
Workington Town v Dewsbury Rams KO 14:00 Draw -
Newcastle V Dewsbury
Barrow V Bradford
Batley V Widnes
Featherstone V York
London Broncos V Halifax
Sheffield V Workington
Whitehaven V Leigh

Fax don't get a penny from the stadium. Also I don't mean this to sound harsh but is there much to do in Barrow? I know there really isnt much in Keighley and that will play a small part. I think it also makes a huge difference that despite it being a "community" stadium we can't even get kids playing on the pitch let alone any other teams so there is that disconnect as well. Its not rocket science, get a kids tourney on the pitch before the game and charge parents £10 so it s abig discount to watch the main game and to watch their kid and instantly you have a few more people in the ground. We simply can't do anything like that which is a joke really.
There is plenty to do in Barrow Blue Ox. More than you think.
The town has football club that have in the last couple of years played league football which is a higher standard that it has been in for the last 40+ years. Barrow RL have done extremely well to retain its fan base with the local football club being on the rise.
Geographically Barrow is located on a coast with reasonable beaches with scenic views of the mountains in the surrounding area, then there's the lake district 20 minutes drive away which gives you the options of water sports, cycling, walking mountains, etc etc.......
I'd say there's more Barrow than most other clubs

Granted it's a Monday night fixture but where's the crowd?

It would be great to retain the services of Sammut. He's been a stand out player so far this season.

Well done Fax. Much the better team and I'd have thought our lot would have given you a good game but it wasn't to be.

Barrow obviously played well, but 18points to the good and with having played 5 days before and having another game in 3 days time against seemingly better opposition the Leigh player's must have considered job done and put the cue on the rack they were there for the taking, a bit more composure by Barrow and they would have won it, but don't even consider that it was a full on performance from Leigh, which you already know, but you do get confused quite easily so I will make allowances for that.
As I was present at the game, I would definitely say Leigh didn't put the cue on the rack. It was more of the case of whatever was said during the break at half time got Barrow motivated. They came out a looking like a different team and were more energetic. As for not considering a full performance from Leigh? Leigh were very lucky IMHO.

I hardly think Fax are there for the taking. We've won 9 out of our last 10 games. I do think it will be a real tough game though, I'll go for Fax by 7 and would be happy with that. Up The Fax ️
Hey up,
Based purely on our current form Fax are there for the taking, absolutely nothing against Fax who are one of the most consistent team in the league.
Hopefully it'll be great viewing for the mutual supporters watching the game on telly, fingers crossed for the result.

If we continue our form prior to the weekend internationals Fax are there for the taking.
Plus the home advantage the odds should be in our favour.
However, Fax are a very good established Championship team so this game should be a cracker!!
At a guess, Barrow should win by 12.

Thoroughly deserved.

I think we can most definitely remain in the top 6.
It's a shame we're not playing this weekend as looking from our previous results we have hit a bit of form, especially after the Leigh game.
Yes we were unfortunate not to get the result against Leigh, however tallying up the points for and against from our last couple of performances, we have scored 130 points for and only conceived 32..... 28 of them against Leigh.
I suppose a good indicator too will be when we play Fax at home a week Monday. They too will be looking at top 6 position so this game should be a cracker!!

Batley Bulldogs v Newcastle Thunder
Dewsbury Rams v London Broncos
Sheffield Eagles v Bradford Bulls
Whitehaven v Halifax Panthers
Widnes Vikings v York City Knights
Workington v Barrow RaidersSome tough decisions again this week week. Any team on their day can get a result.

Bradford Bulls v Newcastle Thunder KO 18:00
Featherstone Rovers v Whitehaven KO 17:30SUNDAY 22nd MAY
Batley Bulldogs v London Broncos KO 15:00
Dewsbury Rams v Barrow Raiders KO 15:00
Leigh Centurions v Workington Town KO 15:00
York City Knights v Halifax Panthers KO 15:00York & Bulls both having the home advantage, they will edge Fax and Newcastle respectively.
The other home wins are based on form and where they lie in the table.
Dewsbury did great against Featherstone but that may took a lot out of their tank and with the return of key players like Sammut & Forster I think Barrow edge a result.

Although possibly classed as a semi professional team, I do believe Brett McDermott has actually played or has started games in each position between 1-13 in his career at Barrow.

This is just an observation - Jake Carter's tackling is woeful at best and it doesn't take teams long to realise this and target him because of it. Otherwise they are able to cover any player losses at halfback!
Jake's defence has improved massively over the season as he has bulked up a bit and probably given him more confidence.
Not sure if you want to watch the Widnes game again but his in game kicking had great depth and put Widnes on the back foot. Yesterday yes he missed a couple of conversions but again in game, spot on.
