Now 30 - 26 and by my reckoning 5 tries each, only Marc Jacksons goalkicks separating the sides. Don't think thay are allowed first teamers, Maureen. It used to be anyone player more than so many first team matches was ineligible.

I went onto Havenfans.co.uk and got the score. Latest is 18-6 to Haven - don't know how long gone but there has been a 5 min.delay due to an injury to a Fev player. Will keep posting when poss.

It looks like the Barrow match will remain on Sunday 22/8 and will not be brought forward to Thursday 19/8. This is because Barrow play their re-arranged match v. Widnes on Weds. 18/8.
Probably better for the club attendance wise although ###### for me since I am on holiday. I was hoping it was on Sky then I could watch it half pi-sed, now I will be getting updates via a computer and mobile. Got the hint' son!

I have checked the website www.rugbyleagueontv.co.uk and this states on Thursday 9th Sept the Championship 1st v. 2nd play -off is shown. Don't know if this is 100% accurate but I hope it helps.

I see he was up to his usual standard last week at the Batley v Eagles game - 20+ penalties, both coaches and the the press report critisizing him. AND HE STILL REFS A GAME.

Will Fev be Barrow's last match?
I thought the league season ended on 22nd August but on Barrows website they play Widnes on Weds. 25th August, however no date for this fixture is given on the RL and Widnes websites. The Barrow V Widnes fixture was postponed on 6th May and RL Rule B1:17 states that postponed matches have to be played on the 1st available midweek. That why we had to play Leigh on the Tuesday befoe we went to Toulouse.
Me thinks email to RL Headquarters for clarification.

Rovers lost 18-16 with a touchline converted try a minute off time. The lads played well against a c*s side with a couple of much bigger players - and they looked the part.

Lynch has gone to Australia, this was announced in the clubhouse after the Dewsbury game. I assume its long term to work and play 2nd grade. Sherriffe was the water carrier in the last match and one of the few who played well in the last A team Match. Don't forget Widnes for the U20 tonight at 7.30.

The change of date is now on the Rovers web-site. I think the club should complain to the RFL since Leigh have an unfair advantage.They have an extra day to prepare (Leigh play Barrow on the previous Saturday and we play Sunday).

I have read the comments by Leigh fans ( on RLFans.com)and the club statement and I just wonder when the Leigh BOD will ever learn. They slagged of the RFL after the last franchise announcement and the RFL will not forget. Now lets have a few facts:-
1. A wednesday night match would mean the players getting back to Fev approx 1 AM Thursday. They will then leave approx. 4 AM Friday to Toulouse. That is 27 hours and they have to do a days work in between as the majority are not full-time.
2.Get back from Toulouse approx. 2 AM Monday morning, then go to work.
3. When Leigh had the farce of the Easter program they used it to their advantage. To quote Mr Millward, "Leigh would use the time in Toulouse to recuperate and prepare for Batley". All on the generous RFL.
Rant over.
The situation that Leigh was on a coach for 26 hours is ridiculous and should never happen again. Remind me again why French teams are in a British cup competition and what do British clubs get out of it?
THe RFL should recognise the majority of players in the Championship are part-time and schedule fixtures accordingly. I can understand the Leigh clubs' frustration at one of their most attractive home fixtures being so hastily arranged. Why couldn't it be arranged for later on in the season to suit both clubs?

One tip (pardon the pun) is watch your change. Gave the waitress 40 euros for a bill of 34 euros for 2 meals and 1 beer and I am still waiting for the change! Don't mind giving a tip but around 20% is a bit excessive. Apart from that I am now skint due to an enforced 2nd week in Lanzarote but I'm sure i'll find some money for a few Kilkennys in the Melting Pot.

Gary certainly kept that quiet and I was only speaking to him @ 4:30 this afternoon. Did he go? Would love to see any pictures of him in a dicky-bow (+baseball cap!!!)
