  1. Halifax would have to win their last 4 games 44-nil and we would have to lose our next 3 games

nil - 14 otherwise we are CHAMPIONS.

Halifax can still reach 50points and would win the league should Fev lose all their matches by more than twelve points.

  2. I wouldnt belive the sun if they told me today was saturday remember the lies told about the hillsborough tragedy but if he goes good kuck to the lad he owes us nowt!

Personnaly, however, I don't think jesse is super league standard hasnt got that explosive pace over first ten yards unlike zac. I would be more dissapointed if we lost welham

I totally agree with you here. JJP will be making a huge mistake here though I do hope not. These players get their heads turned by over zealous agents. They see them having one or two good games in the championship and they are on the band wagon. Its only my opinion but I think JJP is a quality championship player and that is all. But if the rumours are true and if he wants this for himself and not just for a jack the lad agent I will be the first to wish him well. But my advice to him would be to think hard before making the step up.

  3. Does anyone really think that a club for instance say Salford have enjoyed their time in super league as much as we have this season in the championship. Stuff SUPER DOOPER. Controversial I know. And Ive heard all this about we must aspire to be at the top. Yes but only on a level playing field.Fev are Fev to me I.ll watch them in any division but I aint obsessed with SUPER DOOPER. What thrills they have given us at Leigh Barrow Halifax and Widnes this season. Im not bothered about Rugby League and who runs it but I am bothered about Featherstone Rovers

  4. did he need to come out and say things like that? when they havent got a game or anything? it just seems a rather random time to make this kind of statement

Like all coaches and this includes Jowitt more than any. They have got to TALK a job as well as do a job just to be able to keep their job

  5. Don't remind me......

I fly to Spain on 23rd for my hols. Talk about ###### planning or what :(:(

Whats the best bar in (apologies for spelling) Benalmadina to watch this match, anyone know??

Its possible that you might not want to watch it Sidnee if you get my gist!!! :O:O:O:O

  6. 1) Stu Dickens-The chase back to make that awesome tackle just sums up what a legend he is.

2)Ross Divorty-Class Act-Won us the penalty and then backed it up with a crucial try.

    3)Liam Welham-Unsung hero at times.

The fans were awesome. Away games are class and the atmosphere beats home games atmosphere everytime.

What about the club making everyone go into the stands for one match only at p.o road to see if we can generate the away atmosphere. Only a silly suggestion but I do think everyone together under a stand creates a better atmosphere. Roll on the plans for a stand at the railway end B)B)B)B)

  7. Our defence has gone haywire recently... but hey we are the league leaders and we would all have taken this scenario at the beginning of the season. This could be our little slump. We have got away with ugly wins recently and I do fear a defeat looming. But I 'm still proud.

  8. Stop your whinging! What exactly is unfair about it?

There are 5 other teams still in this competition besides the two you mentioned, who might have a say in it. Enjoy your time at the top of the division, hope it continues.

Im with you distantdog we weren't good enough to progress, Next season we might be more careful. Im going for a Batley v Leigh final though Leigh will have to be on their mettle to beat a rampant Hunslet.Fev can concentrate on the business in hand

  9. Couldn't agree more. What a spot on season so far. We are bound to be a bit tired due to the games we have played and the intensity of them. After all the lads are only human.Dewsbury played well and got what they deserved for coming close but not scoring enough points that being a bonus point. Not being funny but how many times have teams like Man United played rubbish for 89 minutes in football but still be in touching distance of teams and beaten them in the dying seconds. Thats what being championship contenders is all about having guts and character as a squad even when your not at the top of your game.

    UP THE ROVERS!

You said "NOT BEING FUNNY" then you said "MAN UNITED":lol::lol::lol:

  10. Not our best today, but we all have seen worse. To me it is quite simple, if we had lost, then i would now be having a right rant.

But we won and that is fact, 3 points and Leigh lost too. = 3 points on TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

So keep it going lads, next mission, stuff Fax at their place !!!

WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE,,,SAY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE; Good post Genesis we're never satisfied.

  11. A wins a win. We were knocked about a bit at Leigh. Straight into a tough Toulose. The body needs time to recover. We did it because we are the better, fitter team. Well done lads. Time now for a break and time to prepare properly for Halifax who are very beatable.

I don't think any sides are very beatable ala Dewsbury :huh::huh:

  12. Exactly right Terry. This is why I actually agree with the Franchising system if it is adhered to correctly. If a club like Wakefield or Castleford are still at an artist impression stage with a stadium (with three years of warnings) then IMO at least one of them has to go. Rovers could have sat on their hands and said "we'll never get there" but I like the attitude of the club. As was mentioned earlier, the job is to make the RFL's job as uncomfortable as possible when the decision comes around.

People look at franchising from the viewpoint of a championship club. Exactly what could Rovers achieve with three years of stability at the highest level? The stadium development is key to providing fresh impetus for the club.

Why all the hullabaloo about new grounds anyway? Did anyone see the SheffieldvKeighley match last night? I can tell you that Bramall Lane is a top ground but 1272 in that stadium does no justice to a televised Rugby League game at all. There seemed little or no atmosphere generated from the stand occupied by the fans. Grounds like Widnes and Leigh where you have to plead to stand or sit where you want to are nice stadia but NOT what a RL fan wants. They are souless and clinical to the extreme. How many clubs actually need a 12000 stadia? I can only think of two at the moment. Heres hoping that Fev can maintain its atmospheric element when the alterations to the ground are completed.

  13. Dewsbury will be up for this game everyone wants to bet the side at the TOP Fev will have to much for them in the end Fev 38 v12

Yes and beware the Toulouse factor when we were beaten at home. Every team deserves respect.

  14. Just a quick note to wish you well done on your result and performance tonight, as I mentioned when bumping in to the Blue Lagoon lot when they were getting on the coach.

As well drilled a side as I've seen in a long time, you pinpointed plenty of our weaknesses and did all you could to exploit them, particularly out wide.

Think from our point of view it was one game too many after playing Bradford and Widnes in the past ten days, and you could see how knackered our lads were with their lack of invention in front of the line, but take nowt away from your lads as they tackled like demons throughout and were much smarter with the ball, so many congratulations and keep that top spot warm for us ;)

Also, at the risk of causing carnage on the Widnes forum, you brought more over tonight than the Smogs did last week, and made more noise as well. Should make for a great atmosphere at POR later in the season.

Very admirable post Matt. Hope its us two in the final.

  15. Just a quick big well done. By far the better team tonight. great defence and sharper on attack. Leigh did well to get the bonus point. I have to say that I thought you copped the rough end of many refereeing decisions too! Mind you we've had that from him in two games recently, so perhaps he felt we were due to be the beneficiary of some baffling decisions for a change. ;) The sin-binning of the sub who was waiting to come on, was the pettiest decision I have ever seen!

So, no complaints about being beaten by a good, honest team. Well done. Roll on the return!

That is a top and gracious post. We were talking to two Leigh blokes on the way out and gave nothing but praise for Fev. It was hilarious though to see Millward pleading with the ref for Nanyn to re tke his missed kick, he then sent on the fourth official.

  16. Leigh 26 - 10 Fev

Att 1895.........low gate due to being a Tuesday game.......how many of you guys are coming over?

If it kicked off at 4am on a monday morning I doubt if there would be fewer than 400 fev fans I hope this answers your question. Hope the best team wins. B)B)B)B)

  17. So does our accountant!

We've had a stroke of luck with 'Fax getting booted out of the cup or they'd have been a midweek game for us as well.

I did well with my predictions last night so I've officially retired from them now :D

Its nice to be talking about two different teams for the grand final. However never discount anyone at this stage of the season. I fully enjoyed your match on TV though Matt. I did want Widnes to win naturally but a win by Fev on Tuesday and a Barrow victory at Halifax could make it a three horse race. Heres me getting carried away. Leigh are a good side and will take a good performance by our lads to beat you.

  18. Iwas very impressed with Leigh. A big robust side. A repeat of the Toulouse game and we will be in trouble. We need a return to form from a little earlier in the season to stand toe to toe with them. I'm confident Powell can instill that form back into Rovers. We need to play them in their own half a tactic used against Sheffield in the play offs last season will do.

  19. the player has to be partially to blame

The player is TOTALLY to blame. Surely you know if you've played in the cup already you put up your hand and say "Please MR Calland I think Ive already played in this competition for anoher club" I'd send this player back to were he came from.
