Sorry but people need to get over tee, theirs no conspiracy,no shafting,as in many many cases a SL club has cherry picked out the championship, paid a fairly hefty fee, I don't get the xfiles syndrome people have,he's a saints player, their DR with Swinton , and I'm going to be controversial maybe here but even if he came back theirs no guarantee he'd score shed loads as for me alot of his success was massively helped by having miloudi inside him ,who's of course at London, stop babbling about it and back those in the wing jerseys, all about the now,not the then ๐Ÿ‘Œ

    Totally agree๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Thought Kavan Rothwell was my motm great player hope we can keep him or even try sign him for next yearย

Yes,loved the way he came onto the field wanting to get involved straight away,I think he may have scored with his first touch.

Both Rothwell and Forber make terrific impacts from the bench, the longer we can keep hold of them the better๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

If the ball hadnโ€™t gone dead before Ryan knocked it back into play Iโ€™d guarantee he would have shouted and screamed about it being disallowed, there wasnโ€™t really much reaction off him which to me suggests he knew himself it went out of play.

True,I also had my blinkers on๐Ÿ˜‚

  4. Another game this week against a team who we could potentially be battling relegation against.

So important we pick up the two points, another 1 point victory will do me.

  5. Charlie scored the effort that was disallowed in my opinion and the try that Johno knocked back was also a try both in the first half!

    Barrow blinkers were on though๐Ÿค—

No mention of the fighting between the barrow fans at the train station it seems on here? I'm sure if it was haven fans there would be a whole thread about it. Shocking behaviourย

I have seen footage of this,it didnโ€™t seem much of a fight to me if it was at all?

Doesn't look like there are any really poor teams in the league after the 1st set of games. Early days yet but 8 wins should get into a play off against a L1 team which you would expect a championship team to win whoever that maybe.

What he done was wrong, but to try and turn it to look bad for the club is just clutching at straws ๐Ÿ˜‚

Received his punishment at court, stripped of the captaincy, docked wages and a 8 game ban, think it's been well handled by the club personally.

All entitled to opinions but you definitely wouldn't be saying it if was a barrow player.

    ย

The club should have took the lead on this and stood him down from playing, not wait until the RFL ban came through.

    In my opinion.

It's a constant over last few years. We mouth off more than anyone else in league, numerous players at it.

Not sure where you get your facts figures from to come to that conclusion, however we do have some vocal players just like any other team.

Dissent towards the referee is not acceptable and will only cost the team on the pitch and in their pockets.

Players need to control their emotions a little better and take some decisions on the chin,I believe the standard of officiating has decreased which can become very frustrating for players.

That takes out the incentive to win the championship, more like spend moderately and stay in the middle of the league which would help build club funds I suppose.ย

I agree that nothing replaces promotion but they have increased prize money and teams should surely still aspire to win something.

I also like the super eights concept.

  12. Ahead of the start of the Betfred Championship season in Sheffield and Wakefield this Friday night, the Championship and League One clubs have had confirmation of a managed transition of the competition structure below Super League over the next two seasons, to produce two divisions of 12 clubs from 2026.

Following a detailed six-month review involving all Tier Two and Three clubs alongside the RFL executive, the Betfred Championship will become a 13-team division for one season only in 2025, with League One expanding to become at least 10 teams - and applications to be invited for an 11thย (for full details, see the summary below).

From 2025, a Super Eights style system will be introduced to determine promotion and relegation between the Championship and League One.

At the other end of the Championship table, increased prize money will be made available for the Grand Final winners, following a Play-Off series.

Tony Sutton, the RFL Chief Executive, said:ย โ€œWith so much to anticipate in the 2024 Betfred Championship and League One seasons, it was important to provide clarity to all competing clubs about the structure of their competitions going forward.

โ€œThe RFL began this process last September, and following significant feedback and consultation with clubs, a final proposal has been presented.

โ€œA reorganisation to produce two divisions of 12 clubs beneath the Betfred Super League will provide greater consistency and clarity across all three competitions, and also increase the intensity and quality of the Betfred Championship.

โ€œHowever there was a recognition that it would be unfair to reduce the Championship from 14 clubs to 12 clubs in a single season โ€“ so we have allowed a more gradual transition over two seasons, meaning a 13-team Championship in 2025.

โ€œWe also recognised the need to preserve promotion and relegation between Championship and League One, and the clubs have been enthused by a Super Eights type system which will provide more attractive and meaningful fixtures for successful League One clubs by providing a significant number of fixtures between Championship and the top League One clubs.

โ€œThere will be a significant increase in prize money for the Betfred Championship Grand Final winners from 2024, recognising that the winners of this match will no longer secure automatic promotion to the Super League โ€“ the Championship should be seen as a significant competition to win in its own right.โ€

Betfred Championship and League One, 2024-26 - summary

    2024

The top six in the Betfred Championship will compete in a Play-Off series as in previous seasons, with additional prize money on offer for the winners of the Grand Final โ€“ which will be played on the weekend of October 19-20.

The team finishing top of Betfred League One will secure automatic promotion to the Championship, with the bottom two teams in the Championship relegated to League One.

Teams finishing second to sixth in League One will then compete in a Play-Off series, with the winners then facing the 12th-placed team in the final Championship table to determine the 13thposition in the 2025 Championship.

An application process will be launched for a new club to join League One in 2025 โ€“ with the RFL Board to make a decision in September.

    2025ย

Play-Offs in the Betfred Championship will determine the champions โ€“ the number of teams qualifying for the Play-Offs from 2025 is still to be finalised.

Promotion and relegation between the Championship and League One will be determined by a Super Eights style competition involving the top teams in League One, and the lowest-ranked teams in the Championship.

Full details are still being worked through, but the impact will be to reduce the number of teams in the Championship in 2026 to 12.

    2026

Betfred Championship and League One will each have 12 clubs.

Play-Offs in the Betfred Championship will determine the champions โ€“ the number of teams qualifying for the Play-Offs is still to be finalised.

Promotion and relegation between the Championship and League One will be determined by a Super Eights style competition involving the top teams in League One, and the lowest-ranked teams in the Championship.

Disappointing, only a young lad but hope he learns his lesson.

Looked like a cheap shot to me and the game is hard enough without that.
