Big blow to our defence up the middle with Wood missing, hoping the injury is not too bad!

Big test against big spending Oldham on Sunday,I would say we go in as huge underdogs.
Anyone think we can spring a surprise?
-
I would like to think we can sneak into 7th/8th spot and that should be a realistic target for the team we have put together.
I won’t be disappointed if we don’t but think it is imperative we stay in this division.

Nice little piece on the Raiders social media about the last time we played them.
A very tight affair played in a mud bath,BillBurgess crossed twice for Barrow in a win.
The current Crosfields chairman played in the game which is a nice touch.
I hope the Crosfields club and their support have a great day out,but not too great
Ahead of Sunday’s Betfred Challenge Cup second round showdown, we’ve decided to revisit the one and only time that we played Crosfields in the competition.
Their current chairman Mike Donnison played in the game, which took place on 26 February 1966.
Barrow won 11-2 after leading 8-2 at half-time, thanks to tries from Bill Burgess (2) and Bob Weir, with a goal from Henry Delooze. Crosfields’ response came via a goal from Rutter.
The game was played in a swamp, with some terrible weather that winter.
In the next round, Barrow lost 23-15 at Dewsbury.
LINE-UPS
Barrow: 1 Dawes 2 Burgess 3 Woolveridge 4 Hughes 5 Weir 6 Tees 7 Smith 8 Hopwood 9 Redhead 10 Kelland 11 Tomlinson 12 Irving 13 Delooze Subs 14 Douglas 15 Watson.
Crosfields: 1 Sparrow 2 Higgins 3 Hillman 4 B.Johnson 5 Worrall 6 Nolan 7 Ashbrook 8 Rutter 9 Dagnall 10 Rudge 11 Lester 12 Donninson 13 Heesom Sub 14 E.Johnson.
For those who never saw it

Stack banned for Sundays game due to Grade B head contact v Whitehaven.
Always wondered how this is monitored,is it from being put “On report” by ref during game or cited by the opposing team?
Maybe a bit of both?

Wonder if we are as well to try sign someone like Joe Bullock permanently, he's likely to be a squad player so they might see it as a result to get him off the books. But then can we afford someone like him.
I would say that our money is spent due to the fact that the supporters helped to get Stack deal done!

Yeah really tough draw, they knocked us out at home last season!
Won’t be easy but I’m sure we’ll give it a good go,assuming we get past Maryport/Crosfields first.

More than happy to give people a chance but having seen him lots for Whitehaven I think we know what we're getting, which is a strong defensive player who offers little in attack. He's not getting in the side ahead of Costello and Broadbent
Assuming he is going to play as a centre????

Wasn't great was he? Looks like we've signed another centre who can't attack....Broadbent to come back in for me
Good god give the bloke a chance!

Another tough battle to stay in the Championship but one we should relish and get behind the team and the club.
Until we get some big investment from somewhere,I do not see us challenging for the top spots.
Lets make CP a fortress and we should be ok.
Up the Raiders!

I’d accept something more modern incorporating the crest or parts of it.
The flaming ball I have never liked and it has actually put me off buying merch.

Are refeeres awarding trys and calling penalties that are clearly incorrect....? What's their motivation and our cost ?
Referees are human with one pair of eyes, they will make mistakes and not see everything.
It’s a tough job to do and you will never please everybody,I feel the best refs are the ones that go unnoticed.
