Yeah,as we knew there are no easy games in the Championship.
I think opposing teams can apply little old Barrow Raiders to that now.

Itβs nice you are coming with confidence and so you should with those stats

Possibility that we can jump into 5th with a win at home on Monday.
I think that we can give them a game

Iβm interested to know other peoples thoughts on wether the Raiders can maintain that top 6 spot, the season is about halfway through now and we are sitting sixth.
We have had some fantastic wins away from home this season which has been an Achilles heal for many Raiders teams in the past.
Will the result against London let us down, can we go to Sheffield and win?
Certainly going to be an exciting second half of the season,I just hope we can keep the momentum going

I think its a shame that it isn't ran by combined Town and Haven tbh. I know its all about resources and manpower etc, but it would have been an ideal opportunity as well as identifying young talent to also use it as a platform to integrate our local amateur coaches and give them additional training skills to take back to their own clubs, as my mantra has always been if you improve the coaching you'll improve the players!
In regards to Town and Haven, they both need reserve teams, but there isn't the player pool in this area at present to support 2 additional sides and forget about an Academy as it would decimate the youth leagues and have an adverse affect on the local amateur game which is already on life support mode.
The answer could be to run a combined reserve side if a league could be found for them to play in, but I have my doubts as to whether it would work as its been tried before. I mean which club gets priority if a hooker/scrum half etc from both clubs needs game time?
No easy answers unfortunately and the RFL don't help as they seem devoid of ideasΒ Β
I know that Barrow have the Furness Raiders who play in a college league during the winter.
Cresta holds coaching sessions for local coaches who want to get involved in a JETS programme that possibly leads into the Furness side.
This could be an option for Town and Haven?

I think Barrow have done tremendously well in a short space of time.
They seem to have formulated a plan and stuck to it rigidly. But there are fundamental differences between our clubs, the main one for me is that Barrow is a bigger place for a start, its population is more than Workington and Whitehaven combined and they have roughly the same number of amateur clubs to pull players from, but no competition within a 90 minute drive.
That's a huge advantage when attracting players to a club!
I know I'm going to get shot down for it, but I honestly don't think there's room for 2 professional clubs in West Cumbria and if this area wants a team which can compete at the top half of the Championship then the answer is to have one club.
Β
Iβm a bit out of touch so apologies if this has been mentioned before.
What are your thoughts on Newcastle Thunder and Hull FC dipping their toes into West Cumbria?

Brilliant result,I bet the Town fans are gutted!
Sounds like they didnβt turn up at home!
Credit to our lads though, that is some performance

Potentially lambs to the slaughter today may not bother going if we are just going to give the game up
I hope you went? What a game it was,we definitely deserved something from the game.As mentioned already the players and coaches deserve a massive round of applause for their efforts today.
Kudos to the Leigh fans who travelled in numbers today also

I remember Steve Neill a few years ago, with his bookie's hat on, stating it's often a good bet to put money on cup winners to lose their next match (and the losers to win theirs)
It's all to to do with the psychology of coming down again after the elation.Β
Add the short turnaround and it might be a good opportunity to catch them at something less than their best.Β
Β
Fingers crossed

Wow,they looked good yesterday and what a squad they have assembled.
If Iβm honest Iβm not sure we can stay with them over 80mins but Iβm sure Cresta and the team will have a plan.
Looking forward to it.
Up the Raiders.

Dewsbury away this weekend,I noticed they scored 26 points against Fev on Sunday which is no mean feat.
I think they will be tough to beat on their own patch, hopefully the lads can pull another away win out of the bag
