How comes Saints have had a blanked out sponsor on their back the last two games?

I know Laurent (the ref)well I work with him sometimes, he started reffing about 10 years ago at Villeneuve Minervois when I was involved the club, he's cracked up a couple of times as a touch judge when people start shouting from the sidelines, he's not a dishonest guy, he's got a very short temper and screams, shouts and has a hissy fit but never violent,
I reckon he'll be a right mess at the moment as he's quite a shy quiet bloke when he isn't losing his temper
I didn't see the game as I was at a team dinner in Carcassonne and received a few messages from English friends wondering what the mad French ref was doing.
He's used to being the touch judge in the village league and reffing u15s, plus wheelchair rugby in an empty sports hall, I think the pressure and crowd got to him and the booing and insults,
I agree he was very wrong, I just hope he recovers from this as he's usually a very private man who will be regretting this massively I reckon.
Very embarrassing for French RL but we've at least 20 refs like this guy in France, and a couple I hate to say are dishonest, Laurent usually isn't, incompetent but not dishonest.
Expect him to be sacked for gross misconduct and hope he is banned from sport altogether.

Best ever lol. Absolutely deluded. Gone backwards in 9 years. Smaller crowds than football's papa John's trophy.

Safe standing area? I didn’t know there was one at OT.
Yes theres a large one in one of the corners and another one behind the goal I think, it's all shown on the ticketing map.

And why can't I say #### on here? France have one on their shirt!

Meeting in hudds at 10,train over and a day on the razz. In the safe standing area looking forward to it but still fuming England won't be there!

I've enjoyed some of this world cup especially the wheelchair comp and the aus-nz mens game but seeing as this is the negativity thread I'll be honest on what I'll remember looking back on this tournament:
#### up of an opening ceremony
Nowhere to buy official teamwear just weird knock off looking tops on the official website
Crowds lower than football's Papa John's Pizza trophy
England bottling it despite it being fixed for them to make the final
Tonight's unprofessional referee, something I've never seen anything like before, in any sport
I love rugby league but to claim this world cup as a success (the mens tournament anyway) is quite frankly delusional. I know lots will disagree but that's my opinion.

Let's hope the rfl or irl or whoever the hell runs it gets some patents on every aspect of it so it can't be copied or stolen.

Fair enough if only 2 max. I wasn't aware of the rules. Loved watching it.

What’s the deal with the French coach saying the English didn’t focus on disabled players and went for spectacle and a show?
Does it operate differently in France?
I guess the sport is young and rules will adapt as issues arise.
Are all the England players non disabled? Kind of takes the shine off for me if so. Abled bodied players have a big advantage when it comes to fitness and training.

It's not packed out but does look much better in these size grounds. Let's never put quarter finals in 25k seater grounds again.

I'm huddersfield born and bred and agree. Why on earth would you pick this stadium for aus v some made up reserve team? The stadium holds 24k it belongs to huddersfield town and even they don't fill it unless they are in the prem.

I'm at hudds now the crowd is woeful. Could have closed 2 stands. But 70 pound to sit in the middle is an absolute joke. Corners are full. I paid 25 and walked straight to the middle lol.
South stand literally has a bus full in it.

Makes the world Cup look even more tinpot than it already is imho.

What's with the RLWC team branding all the teams with different logos that aren't their official badges? Like that crappy England lion. You can only buy merchandise from the rlwc site with these logos on. Look like awful knock offs.

And yet the attendance was better than a large number of games held at established RL venues
Still looks awful in a 30k stadium

Who in the hell thought this game,or any game, would get a crowd in Middlesbrough.

That’ll show the suckers who’ve paid £70 for the benefit of the international game.
Lol cos you're going to stay sat in the corner when there are a thousand empty seats for the picking on the half way line.

Interesting comparison:
Lol ill be surprised if even one person has paid 70 quid for a ticket at Huddersfield. More money than sense if they have. I'm going to buy a £25 ticket and knowing the stadium very well I'm pretty confident I'll be able to easily walk straight in to the £70 area unchallenged.

Lolo missed three conversions, while Harry Smith missed two. That's two points. Not that much between the two and definitely not enough for a "comfortable" win.
He missed 4 though
