  1. What do we expect to see this weekend? Will Diskin start with what he considers to be his championship side or will he send out a team to learn from. I hope it's the former, he must have an idea what his team will be. We only have a few weeks to get it right before we play Swinton who beat Bradford last weekend!
  2. Has anyone heard anything about the council funding the Latics for a new pitch on the proviso that the Yeds will play at Boundary Park?
  3. I watched NRL on SKY 145 and during the game the commentators made reference to how the new rules have almost halved the penalty count. Also, during the game a bell rung and a "reset" was announced and the attacking side restarted their 6 tackles. Anyone heard anything about these changes and if/when we will be using them?

Is the club thinking about organising a club trip over to Toulouse?
  5. Really looking forward to the new season. Obviously, with some trepidation looking at the main task of just staying up. I feel Diskin has to pick the games that we have a realistic chance of winning and avoiding losing players through injury in the others. The ones to target, I feel, have to be Batley, Swinton, Whitehaven and Dewsbury. I can't see us getting much change out of the rest. However, it still won't stop me being there, including a trip to Toulouse in a couple of weeks. All the best to the Yeds supporters and who knows it could be a great season with lots of great memori
  6. I went to the ORLFC exhibition on Saturday and it was well worth the visit. Whilst I was there I was shown the new Heritage website that has been produced by David Naylor and Michael Turner. The work that has gone into the website is phenomenal. Every game that ORLFC has ever played with full lists of players in many cases with photographs and much, much more information about our great club. Without making a mistake with the address could either David or Michael post it on this site. This site is a MUST for all Oldham supporters.
  7. Looking forward to the battle with the Hairnets. Always a great day out with lots of incidents notably amongst the specys. Can't see us losing, in fact I never see us losing against them.

    Dual Reg.

With our strong links with both St Helens and Salford, doesn't it make sense that we DR with one of them?

    The Final

Looking forward to The Final with some trepidation. The Yeds can't give Newcastle the start they gave them last time because I can't see miracles happening twice. The secret last time was once Langers smashed their stand off every time he touched the ball in the second half - they were clueless. So more of the same. Gill is obviously a threat and the Yeds can't afford to give him any room or the chance of an interception because we know what he can do. A decent ref and the bounce of the ball and I can see us winning by 12.
  10. It all comes down to this to play at home with a realistic chance of beating Newcastle twice. The Yeds can't get drawn into battle like we had at the Whitebank, having players sent off, and losing when we were way in front and well in control which has ultimately cost us the championship.

Sad to read that the club have released Nelmes from his contract. He was the perfect replacement for Ward and we don't now have any impact forwards coming off the bench. It was interesting to read SN's reflection on the game at Whitehaven saying one of the main contributory factors we lost is because was "we were short of forward power!" Then they release Nelmes. Just what is going on?
