Moore played with broken foot against Catalans

Castleford Tigers have lost Scott Moore for this weekend’s action due to a broken foot – an injury the hooker actually played with during the Tigers’ most recent game.

Moore impressed during Castleford’s win against Catalans last weekend, but it is only today that coach Daryl Powell has revealed that the hooker played despite the nasty injury.

“Scott Moore has broken his foot; he played with it broken against Catalans anyway. He only had a scan yesterday (Tuesday), and he’s just found out that it’s broken.

“He played with it because he’s as tough as teeth; he’s a tough man. He had three painkillers before the game and three at half-time – and I thought he was awesome during the game too.”

Powell did reveal that despite the injury, Castleford only expect to be without his services for just a week, this weekend’s game against Wigan.

He added: “He’ll only be out for a week, that’s all. His foot is massively swollen; he went through a fair bit of pain and he actually trained the day after he did it. We’re expecting him to be gone for just a week.”
