Mounis sets retirement date

Catalans loose-forward Greg Mounis has announced he will retire at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old is the Dragons’ most capped player in the club’s history, having made 253 appearances for the club since playing in their first ever Super League game back in 2006.

“It’s an honour to have played with Greg and then to have coached him,” said Catalans head coach Laurent Frayssinous.

“He has always embodied the values of the club. He is a tough player, who always wants to put the club first, especially when we had an injury crisis.”

Chairman Bernard Guasch added: “Greg will remain among the iconic players of the Catalans Dragons. He was there at the beginning and remained loyal to the club throughout his career.

“He is an exemplary player on and off the field who has always given his best for the club.

“The entire club wish him all the best in the future and we thank him for his invaluable contribution to the Catalans Dragons.”
