New Broncos signing finally arrives

London Broncos’ close season signing Israel Eliab has arrived in the UK, and might be handed his debut in Sunday’s match at Workington.

The Papua New Guinean captain’s arrival had been held up by the visa process, which has now been completed.

Broncos coach Andrew Henderson said: “Whether he will get a run against Workington this weekend, we’ll wait and see.

“I’ll assess him when he arrives and make a decision then.”

His arrival comes slightly ahead of schedule, with Henderson telling TotalRL at the start of the season that he might not make it to the country until March.

The Broncos confirmed his arrival at the club through Twitter, posting this picture with captain Wes Naiqama.

Eliab had most recently been captaining the PNG Hunters in the Queensland Cup before making the switch to England. He has played on these shores before as he featured for Papua New Guniea in the 2013 World Cup.
