Paul Anderson: Fans a credit to the club

Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson has praised the Giants fans for turning out in force and inspiring them to a comfortable victory over Bradford Bulls at Magic Weekend.

Over 3,000 Giants fans flocked to the Etihad Stadium to watch last year’s League Leaders move up to fifth in the Super League table with a convincing win over their West Yorkshire rivals.

“The backing we received at Magic Weekend was fantastic,” Anderson told the Examiner.

“It was appreciated by me and it was appreciated by everyone else at the Giants. I can’t thank them enough for their support on the day.

“I know how much of a lift it gave the players to walk out and see all those claret and gold shirts in the stands.”

The former Great Britain prop wants more of the same from the Giants faithful and hopes it can help them contend for silverware again.

“Over the next month we’ve got some important games, and I can’t emphasise enough how valuable that support is at times like this.

“Our fans were a credit to our club at the Magic Weekend and played their part in helping us beat Bradford. I know they can play a crucial role again.”
