Warrington WILL win a Grand Final, even if not this year, says Smith

Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith has assured the club’s fans that they WILL win a Grand Final – even if it is not this season.

The Wolves face St Helens in the first play-off semi-final this evening, knowing victory will take them within 80 minutes of a first Super League title in their history.

And Smith believes that even if they come up short tonight, the work going into making Warrington a force behind the scenes means Old Trafford glory is bound to happen one year.

“It’d be great to get there. A lot of hard work has gone into this year and we’re close now, but if it doesn’t happen this year then it will happen at some stage,” he told TotalRL.

“We’re pretty determined as a club that we’re going to get that elusive title. Whether it’s this year or not, we’ll give it our best shot. It’s a difficult task because to win a Grand Final you need a lot of things to fall in place, and we’re hopeful they will this year.

“Whether it’s this year or this year we’ll get our hands on that trophy.”
