I understand that but wouldn't it of been a better financial decision to have a good team this year so we could stay in this division. Next year in the Championship we will have reduced travel costs, more attractive fixtures and better away support from other clubs.
I can only assume that the budgets where set out and the majority of the squad was already in place before the decision to relegate 5 teams from the championship was put in place?
It's a big punt to assemble a top class well paid squad in this very competitive league with a huge amount of debt, and then to achieve the goal of not finishing in the bottom 5, what with the DR'S that certain clubs have and there ability to get top class fully pro players.
It's a tough one to call, overspend on the squad and maybe stay up what with 5 getting relegated, overspend on the squad and still get relegated because it is such a competitive league as the reason stated above and end up in the mire even more in champ 1, or live within the budget this season and possibly stay up or go down but still have the financial background for next season to rebuild?
Haven go in under the sticks 36 - 12. Absolutely embarrassing. Without Harrison we probably wouldn't of scored.
The BOD need to explain why such an inexperienced side was put together for a year where we had to finish higher than the bottom five. Havens crowd on probably the nicest day of the year so far in a Cumbrian derby with a half decent away support was in the low 700's yet they can assemble a squad far superior to ours. We got 1500 against Workington.
Why can they assemble such a better squad than us. We can't use the travelling argument now either so what's the reason?
don't we not have a huge debt to clear first before we start over spending on top quality players? I understand what you are saying as in we have recruited poorly but we can only recruit to the budget set out!
By the sounds of it the BOD are doing a Gud job in reducing that debt and until that debt is paid off we will just have to support our club no matter what team is on the pitch.
