Anderson laments injury situation as it deepens for Huddersfield

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has revealed the club’s injury crisis is set to worsen with the loss of young forward Josh Johnson.

Back rower Johnson has been added to the casualty list with an ankle problem sustained in last weekend’s 32-18 home Super League defeat at the hands of Wigan Warriors.

He joins forwards Brett Ferres and Chris Bailey and three-quarters Leroy Cudjoe and Aaron Murphy on the sidelines.

Although Scott Grix is set to return after a one-match suspension, Anderson admitted: “This is about as thin as we have been while I have been in charge.

“We are a bit pushed for troops at the minute, but we have Scott back and we will have a look at things and see which pieces fit into the jigsaw puzzle.”
