ROCHDALE HORNETS chairman Andy Mazey is trying to expand the board.
He has already overseen some growth with Carl Halstead – who owns local heating and plumbing firm Aquatherm – joining, but now he wants further new additions.
“There have been several significant shareholding and board changes over the past twelve months or so. Only Paul Ormerod and I now remain from the original consortium that took over the club in 2019-20,” he said.
“All funds generated from recent share transactions have gone directly into the club’s coffers.
“This has enabled the club to benefit from new investment from Carl Halstead, Britannia Metals, Paul Ormerod and myself.
“Shareholding remains available to the right people or groups and none of us would stand in the way of a takeover for the right reasons if someone believed they could take Rochdale to bigger and better things and of course has deeper pockets or greater resources than we do.
“We will be looking to expand the board but only with the right people with skill sets and qualities to add value and are in no rush as we are a well-run club, turning a small profit on our most recent accounts and with no historic debt.”
