BARLA National Cup draw on Friday with 26 entrants so far

THE draw for the first round of the 2025 BARLA National Cup will be conducted at 1pm on Friday via Zoom.

All entered clubs will be given a link to enable them to join the meeting – including those who beat Friday’s noon deadline.

By early yesterday morning (Sunday, February 9), 26 teams had confirmed entry, including holders Thatto Heath Crusaders and last year’s runners-up Orrell St James.

Wigan St Judes will have two sides taking part – their National Conference League team and their second string, who operate in the North West Men’s League.

The competition starts on Saturday, March 1, and BARLA chair Sue Taylor said: “A number of clubs are already asking about the draw as they want to arrange transport. A copy will be emailed to every club if they are unable to log on.”

Teams going into the ‘hat’, all of whom will be hoping to make it through to the final on the first weekend of November, are: Blackbrook Royals, Brighouse Rangers, Crosfields, Drighlington, Featherstone Lions, Flimby Vikings, Fryston Warriors, Haresfinch, Hindley Stags, Keighley Albion, King Cross Park, Kippax Welfare, Leigh East, Normanton Knights, Orrell St James, Sharlston Rovers, Siddal, Thatto Heath Crusaders, Upton, Wath Brow Hornets, West Bank Bears, Westhoughton Lions, Wigan St Judes (NCL), Wigan St Judes (NWC), Wigan St Patricks, Woolston Rovers.

Entry forms are available on the BARLA website.
