THE BBC viewing figures have been revealed for the Challenge Cup semi-finals, with Hull KR’s clash against Catalans Dragons on Saturday afternoon coming out on top over Warrington Wolves’ win against Leigh Leopards.
KR eventually ran out 36-12 winners against Catalans, with an average of 438,000 viewers tuning in to BBC One for the action, as per Rugby League On TV.
At its peak, 528,000 viewers tuned in which equated to a 9.6 percent audience share. Remarkably, that was the same audience share as Rovers’ semi-final fixture against the Wigan Warriors the year before – although that had an average viewership of 492,000.
Meanwhile, Warrington’s 21-14 victory over Leigh had an average of 335,000 viewers, with a peak of 396,000 which equated to an audience share of 4.5 percent.
Though this number is dwarfed by Hull KR-Catalans’ figure, it is up from the BBC Two semi-final broadcast in 2024 between Huddersfield Giants and Warrington.
That had an average of 260,000 viewers and an audience share of 3.7 percent.
Warrington v Leigh on BBC 2 yesterday had 335,000 average, 396,000 peak & 4.5% audience share.
This is up on the BBC 2 Semi (Huddersfield v Warrington) last year which had 260k average & 3.7% share. https://t.co/M3qcqUpwcE
