Boxing Day win means “nothing”, says Miller

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats half-back Jacob Miller has insisted that despite the team impressing during their victory against Leeds, the Boxing Day result means “nothing”.

The Wildcats, who finished bottom of Super League before the Super 8s split last year, put in a superb performance to beat the Super League champions at Headingley Carnegie last weekend.

Miller and fellow half Liam Finn caught the eye, and although he admitted there were plus points to garner from the match, it doesn’t mean a great deal in the grand scheme of things.

“There are a few positives to take out of it, but it was just a Boxing Day friendly,” Miller told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“At the end of the day it means nothing.

“There were some good things from it, but we are not getting too far ahead of ourselves.

“We will look at the positives and the stuff we think we can improve on for the first week in February.”
